iFixit's staff is the focal point of a global community showing people how to fix the things they own. We believe that we can make the world better by empowering people to take control of their hardware. iFixit’s community team is crucial to our mission—working with thousands of fixers and translators around the world.

When you scroll through the guides on iFixit, it's easy to forget that there are tons of real people keeping all those bits and bytes running smoothly. But there are dozens of us! We're a diverse team, split between two continents--but we're united by a love of tinkering and repair.

We're looking for a full-time Community Manager to spearhead our efforts to keep our online community engaged through helping members access the guides, answers and troubleshooting help they need to fix their stuff.

We live and breathe internet communities, and we’d love someone who shares our passion for making the internet better. If you’ve moderated an online forum or love helping curate online conversations, we’d like to talk.

Candidates should:

  • Enjoy working with the online community and have a passion for online forums, social media, fixing, and/or gaming
  • Have experience in Community Management and Forum Moderation
  • Have impeccable grammar; speak and write succinctly and clearly
  • Have editing experience, and enjoy correcting tpyos and errors of the grammar
  • Be a diligent, detail-oriented self-motivated worker who can work through repetitive tasks efficiently and independently
  • Love tinkering, taking things apart, and fixing all their friends' stuff
  • Approach life with patience and a sense of humor

Everyone at iFixit wears a lot of hats and participates in a wide variety of projects, but primary responsibilities for this position include:

  • Nurture and grow our community of online fixers
  • Make data-driven decisions to implement new community growth strategies, online and offline
  • Daily checking of unanswered questions, categorizing and modifying them to improve answerability
  • Evaluating mod and power user activity, touching base with them regularly
  • Identifying potential new community members and welcoming them through their journey.
  • Researching and implementing moderator and power user motivation strategies
  • Help make our community feel appreciated and loved
  • Being awesome!

iFixit is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. Because we are trying to teach everyone to fix every thing, we need a team as diverse as our online community.
