Our Operations team is responsible for everything having to do with the flow of physical products we sell including product development, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, quality control, inventory processing, shipping and customer service. Within Operations, our inventory processing team is responsible for receiving shipments, examining and testing parts, assembling kits, stocking products all while keeping our warehouse and processing areas clean, organized, and optimized for efficiency.

This position will be responsible for managing and overseeing our parts procurement process as well as parts offering to customers. The ability to learn quickly and remember details is required. Integrity, reliability, respect for your fellow team members, and attention to detail are also a must.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work very closely with the Operations department leads in maintaining a parts procurement process that matches our operational capacity and business philosophy
  • Directly manage the parts procurement team
  • Management duties will include review and evaluation of employees' performance, hiring, disciplining, training, motivating and mentoring
  • Develop and manage relationships with parts vendors including parts we procure, pricing negotiations, quality, processing and shipping procedures
  • Develop sources for new and existing products
  • Manage and direct almost all parts offering including pricing, product expansion, and quality for both B2B and B2C sides of the company
  • Develop and manage strategic partnerships/special projects
  • Work closely with the parts processing/testing coordinators and product development teams
  • Maintain technical knowledge around our core part offerings and train staff as needed on what they need to know (mostly sales, support and quality control/testing departments)
  • Work with the CEO and CXO on evaluating potential new business opportunities
  • Maintain good documentation, reporting, and accounting around areas of responsibility
  • 15-20% travel required, a lot of it being international, mostly to Asia

Skills/Requirements:

  • Ability to follow through on projects/tasks including maintaining process changes
  • Impartial and unbiased thinker that can make well-informed, data-driven decisions

  • Excellent negotiator with a proven track record of fostering good relationships with outside companies (suppliers/vendors).
  • 3-5+ years of experience in the purchasing/procurement of electronic parts (such as wireless repair parts)
  • 1-2+ years of managerial experience

This position is located at out San Luis Obispo, California headquarters. We are looking to fill a full-time position effective immediately. We will not accept part-time applicants. We may entertain the idea of working remote for exceptionally qualified applicants though consistent presence at our San Luis Obispo headquarters will be required to some degree. Approximate hours for this position are Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5 pm.
