iFixit has outgrown our old systems. We’ve created a new position that we have never had on our Finance & Accounting Team so we can take A/P to new heights. If you are “one of those people” who is an absolute A/P machine and can completely own and boss an A/P process from end-to-end, this might be your new home.

Our Finance & Accounting Team has been scrappy and made it work for a very long time. The flood of success has overwhelmed us and we need you. Come step into our fast-paced, slightly crazy team and help us level-up. This will not be an easy job. It might even be chaos at time. The goal is to wrangle the A/P beast and end up with an optimized workflow, quality data, and a progress that integrates with the company’s operations.

Job Summary:

The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for ensuring the success of the U.S. accounts payable function. This role involves maintaining systems for managing the company's expenses, invoices, and payments to suppliers. The A/P Manager ensures that the function operates smoothly, maintains accurate and complete records, and contributes to the efficient control of company finances.

Key Responsibilities:

Bill Processing and Payment:

  • Timely processing of pull and push billings including direct entry and imported entry with correct classification and segmentation for posting.
  • Processing of bills and payments to vendors and suppliers.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Manage paperless records.

Vendor Management:

  • Work with Procurement and Purchasing teams to resolve discrepancies in billing and invoices.
  • Validate using internal controls including 3-way match between purchase orders, item receipts and bills.

Compliance and Controls:

  • Enforce policies and procedures for the accounts payable function to ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain internal controls to prevent and detect financial fraud.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and present reports detailing accounts payable status.
  • Feed Accounts Payable metrics into cash flow forecasts

Liaison with Other Departments:

  • Continuously evaluate and improve accounts payable processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Participate in automation and technological solutions implementations
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and budgeting, to streamline processes.
  • Work closely with the finance team to assist with month-end and year-end closings.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts receivable or a similar finance role, with experience managing an accounting function.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in accounting software and systems, with a keen aptitude for learning new technologies.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • High level of integrity and dependability.
