iFixit is hiring a project manager to oversee all of our technical writing projects, including repair guides and repairability assessments for manufacturers. This person will ensure all project goals, objectives, and metrics are being met within scope and budget. You will work closely with the Technical Writing team, our Solutions team project manager, and our VP of Business Development to ensure that both internal projects and client projects are completed on time.

iFixit is the largest online repair resource, teaching millions of people every month how to believe in themselves and repair things they didn’t know they could. Our step-by-step repair manuals and troubleshooting forums have set the gold standard for online repair documentation. We also make the best darn precision repair tools in the world. Our resources, tools, and fix kits have helped people in every country in the world repair their own devices.

iFixit is almost twenty years old, but we’re just getting started. We have a lot of exciting projects coming up this year and into the future, and we’re looking for someone to help us move these projects along.


  • Plan, drive, and complete technical writing projects end-to-end.
  • Coordinate with multiple internal teams on deliverables, expectations, and timelines.
  • Coordinate communication between different department heads involved with shared projects.
  • Schedule and facilitate weekly meetings with clients and internal teams. Set agendas, lead the meetings, take notes, and send summary emails afterward.
  • Create and manage Asana project boards, map out timelines, create and assign tasks, monitor completions, and keep stakeholders accountable.
  • Maintain timesheets and project costing sheets.
  • Participate in new project scoping meetings and help develop proposals and statements of work.

The skills you have:

  • Ability to coordinate and communicate clearly and concisely with co-workers and clients.
  • Manage time effectively to keep all teams accountable and on time with deliverables to meet strict project deadlines.
  • Identify potential risks and scope creep, and plan for contingencies.
  • Possess a basic understanding of content creation and technical writing. You don't need to be an expert technical writer, but the basics help.
  • History of teamwork and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done.
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience in managing growth and scaling processes.
